Understand the Feasts of the Lord: Sukkot

The word Sukkot means “booths” in Hebrew. The term refers to a temporary dwelling. The Hebrew people honored this appointed time set aside by the Lord, memorializing their desert wanderings following the exodus out of Egypt. They remembered how the Lord delivered them from slavery, provided all they needed, and looked forward to the ultimate deliverance from sin through the coming Messiah.

Sukkot’s Prophetic Significance

As you study the festival of Sukkot through God’s prophetic timeline, you find that it is a representation of Christ’s return and reign here on earth. It also reflects of when He came the first time as a baby, when “the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us.”

Believers can honor and celebrate this day, remembering God’s protection and provision and His promise of Messiah—Yeshua Ha’Mashaich, Jesus Christ.
