Stand with Israel | How You Can Make an Impact
October 7, 2023 changed everything. It became the single most deadly day for Jewish people since the Holocaust, and for the first time in 50 years, Israel declared war.
The barbaric savagery that has been unleashed on Jewish civilians is unprecedented, unthinkable, and just a few short days ago, would have been completely unimaginable.
God has made eternal, unbreakable covenants with Israel. That will never change. For if they were transferred to the Church, this would make God a liar. When we stand with Israel it is a prophetic act, declaring the manifestation of her covenant promises while believing in our own.
“If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! If I do not remember you, let my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth—if I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.”—Psalm 137:5-6
Many are asking in this hour, “what can we do?”, “how can we help?”.
In a paralyzing moment like this it’s hard to not feel powerless in the wake of such evil. But there is much we can do and will do through the power of the Holy Spirit. We want to equip you to engage biblically and powerfully in this moment.
“Stand with Israel” is not a political statement; it’s a spiritual posture. It’s far beyond good will and thoughts–it gets really practical.
Our desire is to strengthen your heart and give you action steps that can and will make a positive impact.
PRAY. Our Spiritual Posture | Support Israel Biblically
The ramifications of what we’re watching unfold underscore the times we’re living in. It’s prophesied that before Jesus returns the nations will gather around Israel, that anti-semitism will rise, but the God of Israel will fight for His people.
“As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD will surround His people both now and forevermore” (Psalm 125).
Zechariah 2:5 tells us God will be a wall of fire around Israel.
“For I,’ says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.’ ”
And Jeremiah 30 talks about a time of “Jacob’s trouble”.
“It is the time of Jacob’s trouble,
But he shall be saved out of it.
‘For it shall come to pass in that day,’
Says the Lord of hosts,
‘That I will break his yoke from your neck,
And will burst your bonds…” (v 7-8).
The prophetic implications here are important, because when Jesus returns, He is coming back to Jerusalem and will stand on the Mount of Olives and walk through the Eastern Gate (Zecharaiah 14:4, Ezekiel 44).
Israel always has been and always will be center stage in bible prophecy. Understanding that gives us knowledge of our season and will strengthen and equip our intercession.
Here are seven prayer points to engage for Israel spiritually right now:
- Pray comfort over those who are mourning the loss of loved ones. Pray for healing from trauma.
- Pray for protection over the IDF and the American soldiers currently deployed as a result of Hamas’ attack. Pray for the rescue of Israeli hostages and supernatural intelligence of enemy plans.
- Pray Psalm 10, that God would break the arm of the wicked. He sees trouble and grief and will require an account. Pray He requires an account now and justice comes quickly.
- Pray for confusion among Hamas. “May those who seek Israel’s life be put to shame and confusion”. Pray through Psalm 35, Psalm 94 and wherever Holy Spirit leads you. Praying His Word is powerful.
- Pray for the Jewish people to come to know their Messiah Yeshua. They need their Prince of Shalom, the only One who can rescue, deliver and heal them from this unimaginable trauma and loss.
- Pray for all innocent people who are standing with Israel and crying out for Hamas to stop. Hamas does not represent anyone but the enemy.. Pray for the Muslim people to have dreams and visions of Jesus and come to true salvation.
- Pray against anti-semitism that is now rising globally. Pray the Church would come to repentance for the ways replacement theology has taken an ugly hold in the teaching of many. Pray Christians would honor and stand with God’s chosen people.
Jesus is at the right hand of His Father in a living, breathing Jewish body. He is crying out for His people, His DNA family. We cry out with Him, interceding and believing He will bring the deliverance He has promised.
EDUCATE. Know the Truth | Share the Truth
This is not about Palestinian people versus Israeli people.
Nearly 2 million Arabs live peacefully in Israel with full citizen rights. Israel has never been fighting a race war, but Hamas is.
Hamas is a barbaric terrorist group that stands for and fights for nothing except evil in its most brazen and ruthless form. They have violated women, mercilessly dismembered children, burned people alive and unleashed a savagery hardly seen in even the most dangerous parts of the world.
This is what Israel is fighting against. It is vital in this hour that you know the truth and share the truth about Israel’s enemies.
One of the most highly perpetrated lies is the Jewish people don’t have a right to their own land. That they are somehow “occupying.”
It is our belief that God gave the title deed to the Jewish people in Genesis 15:18.
“On the same day the Lord made a covenant with Abram, saying: ‘To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the River Euphrates…”.
That is roughly 300,000 square miles at minimum. Some scholars believe it would also include the entirety of Saudi Arabia. Even under the kings, Israel did not claim all of what God intended for them. The Jewish people today have approximately 8,130 square miles of land, not even a tenth of what God originally declared for them to have.
Dennis Prager put it well when he said this:
“There has never been a state in the geographic area known as Palestine that was not Jewish. Israel is the third Jewish state to exist in that area. There was never an Arab state, never a Palestinian state, never a Muslim state or any other state. That’s the issue. Why can’t the one Jewish state, the size of New Jersey, be allowed to exist?”
That’s the question, and that’s the problem.
Prager University created a 5 minute video, purely facts and numbers to explain the challenges in the Middle East. We highly encourage you to watch it and be equipped with how to educate on the political truth about Israel.
As followers of the Jewish Messiah, we understand Genesis 15:18 as the infallible will and word of God, and we will stand with Israel’s right to their land, and their right to exist.
FUND. Help Meet Immediate Needs of the Israel Defense Force
Curt Landry Ministries has been honored to have a trusted and faithful presence in Israel for over 30 years. Multiple commanders from the IDF reached out to our representative in Jerusalem making us aware of immediate needs for Israel’s warriors–both active duty and those serving in reserves.
We released the first phase of needs and your amazing generosity provided 125 undergarments, 200 phone banks, and 100 bulletproof vests to soldiers in the IDF. Phase 2 and 3 followed and you blew us away, quickly providing protective helmets, portable mattresses, hygiene kits, field wound dressing, a 3 night hotel stay in Jerusalem for 50 families, arterial tourniquets (life-saving medical grade devices) and more bulletproof vests.
Phase 12 is now underway and includes IDF generators, beds, emergency and medical supplies.
Together, we are helping secure those who secure Israel. Thank you for being a part of this mission!
The One New Man Stands in Solidarity
Jesus came to bring non-Jewish people and Jewish people together as One New Man, One New Humanity (Ephesians 2). We are grafted into Israel’s inheritance. And we not only take part in the blessing but we also grieve and we mourn. We pray. And we stand in solidarity: may God preserve, protect, and bless the nation and the people of Israel according to His Word.
We are immensely grateful for the many who have reached out and asked how they can help. To those who are standing with Israel and Jewish people everywhere: we see you and we thank you.
“They have greatly oppressed me from my youth, let Israel say; they have greatly oppressed me from my youth, but they have not gained the victory over me.” (Psalm 129:1-2)
Am Yisrael Chai.
The people of Israel live.
