Spiritual Warfare | Preparing for Victory in Advance
Preparing for victory in advance when it comes to spiritual warfare is critical in this season. Without the preparation, we aren’t sure how to protect the blessings that have been given to us. When we aren’t prepared to protect, the enemy can gain a foothold in our lives.
“…do not give the devil a foothold.”
—Ephesians 4:27 (NIV)
We must understand this fundamental spiritual truth…
- When we receive a spiritual promotion, there will be an attack from the enemy. His plan is to kill, steal, and destroy the blessings of the promotion. We must change our mindsets from thinking we will react after the attack to a proactive perspective, taking measures to align ourselves before the attack comes—preparing for victory in advance!
Preparing for Victory During the Promotion
There are ways you can be preparing for victory during a season of promotion. We are getting ready to enter a new season, a new year on the Hebraic calendar. There will be promotions released. There will be moments of personal spiritual growth and abundance, and some of you will encounter the love of the Lord in new and life-changing ways.
The enemy’s goal is to send a spirit of lack and poverty, infiltrating our thoughts, habits, and patterns. When we come into agreement with the spirit of lack…
- We forget our identity as a blessed child of God
- The enemy uses debt, doubt, and depression to weigh us down
- We experience chaos in our finances, health, relationships, and thought-life
Therefore, we must come into agreement with our identities in Christ and align our hearts with the Lord’s ways. Then, no matter our earthly circumstances, we will be able to receive the blessings of peace, abundance, and victory.

Preparing for Victory | 3 Simple Ways to Prepare
- Make a decision to align your heart.
Take a moment to get quiet with the Lord. Thank Him for the advancement and promotions you have received. Decree and declare verses such as Psalm 51:10-12…
- “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.”
The Lord is looking for those who will believe Him by faith and align their hearts with His so that He can demonstrate His covenant blessings through them.
When you align your heart with the Lord’s, your mindset changes from one that is cursed with lack to one that is blessed with abundance. It is then that you come to understand your true identity as a King’s kid.
The Bible says that the Lord does not bless us so that we may store up treasures on earth, but rather so that we can live abundantly and bless others.
Action Step: Create a list of destructive thoughts that lead to victims and lack mindsets. Write them down, circle them, and make an “X” through them. Then write down a declaration of your desire to partner with God by faith moving forward.
- Make a decision to claim your identity.
Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, focus on who you are in Christ. The enemy will use the words you say, those that are contrary to who God says you are, to plant seeds of doubt and depression.
Take a moment to decree and declare verses that proclaim your identity, such as Ephesians 1:3…
- “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,”
The Lord wants you to enter into the Courts of Heaven and ask that your identity be recorded in the heavenly books. He wants you to decree that He is your Provider, Protector, Savior, Empowerer, and Advocate.
The Lord wants the enemy to know that you have complete confidence and faith in your true identity. You overcome the accusations of the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of your testimony. This is an act of preparing for victory in advance.
The Bible says that Yeshua came to give abundant life. Claiming the abundance is connected to claiming your identity as a restored, redeemed child of God.
Action Step: Decree and declare scriptures such as Philippians 4:19, that your every need will be supplied by the Lord according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Pray, “Father God, I am in agreement with and trust Your Word that says you supply my every need according to Philippians 4:19. Record this in the heavenly books, in Jesus’ name, amen!”
- Make a decision to partner with God.
Partnering with God involves silencing the accuser of the brethren by going into the Courts of Heaven and declaring your covenant relationship with the Lord. This is an act of preparing for victory in advance because Satan is silenced, and your requests are made known.
Take a moment to pray for God’s protection to cover you in advance as you partner with Him. You can pray Psalm 91:1-4…
- “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in Him I will trust.’ Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge…”
God’s will is recorded in the Courts of Heaven. This is why Yeshua prayed, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).
The Lord wants us to partner with Him, pulling down His Kingdom from Heaven to earth. We do this through a covenant relationship, acting in faith and obedience. The Lord says in Malachi 3:10, that He will open the windows of Heaven, pouring out such a blessing that we won’t have room enough to receive it when we walk in His ways.
The covenant relationship is the activator to the activator. In other words, the covenant relationship should activate and prompt our hearts to partner with Him, aligning our time, tasks, and activities in such a way that opens up the windows of Heaven.
Action Step: Consider areas of your life where the spirit of lack has gotten hold of your thoughts. Make a decision today to come out of agreement with the lack and into an agreement with God’s biblical principles that align your heart, time, tasks, and activities.
The Takeaway
Through Yeshua’s death on the cross and resurrection three days later, we are free from lack! He destroyed the works of the enemy. His blood established a covenant relationship that gives us an inheritance in His name.
When we align our heart with God’s, claim our identity as His children, and partner with Him, we are supernaturally preparing for victory in advance.
We can enter the Courts of Heaven and decree and declare His Word, requesting that His will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. As a result, He opens the windows of Heaven, pours out blessings upon us, and we bless others.
This is a cycle of sowing, reaping a harvest, seeing multiplication and prosperity, and sowing more seeds into others.
We must choose to take the next step to align our time, tasks, and activities—our resources and finances—with God’s ways. That step is preparing us for victory in advance.
Are you ready to take that step?
