Unity is Power
Most understand the concept of Unity is Power. Nations, governments, and cultures around the globe know that the principles of unity work to protect, provide, and flourish those who are within it. So, what makes solidarity with the Body of Christ unique compared to other groups? And why is it important?
When there are contentions and divisions in the population, power and peace are lost. If the Body of Christ so desires to be the light of the world, cohesiveness must come into play.
“Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”—1 Corinthians 1:10
Unity with God
To be reconciled to God through the blood of Jesus is the first step to unification. Once reconciliation takes place, God begins His restoration and sanctification within us.
“For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.”—Colossians 1:19-20
All of us, at one time or another, have either justified our sin or have been blind to it. However, in these times of separation and false teaching within the Church, there is an outpouring of the Holy Spirit that calls Believers to awaken.
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.”—Romans 6:1-6
When our belief, opinion, and order does not agree with the Word of God, we are walking out of alignment, off of our destiny’s path, and missing the inherited blessings through Christ.
Unity within the Church
Some modern-day Believers think of that unity mentioned in Romans is for their congregation. While this is imperative, God’s power transcends beyond the walls of the local Church. His design for agreement is for every tribe, tongue, and nation to come together as One New Man that He may be glorified and His Kingdom come.
“For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation, having abolished in His flesh the enmity, that is, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, so as to create in Himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and that He might reconcile them both to God in one body through the cross, thereby putting to death the enmity. And He came and preached peace to you who were afar off and to those who were near. For through Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father.”—Ephesians 2:14-18 (emphasis added)
The one Body—the One New Man—that Paul speaks of in Ephesians separates those walls, opens up the windows of Heaven, and pours out His blessing of peace among Believers.
“For this reason I, Paul, the prisoner of Christ Jesus for you Gentiles—if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which was given to me for you, how that by revelation He made known to me the mystery…”—Ephesians 3:1-3
- Unity Releases Blessing and an Anointing
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing—life forevermore.”—Psalm 133:1-3
It is a blessing to the Lord when we are unified. Brought in unison not only with each other, but also with His order. This fundamental building block of order is where many are led astray. God calls us to unite, pray, and love His chosen people, Israel, beginning in Genesis.
When we follow His path of divine order, we will be blessed.
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you”—Matthew 6:33 (emphasis added)
To recognize what His Kingdom on earth is, we must understand the roots of our faith!
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”—Acts 1:8
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, prosperity within your palaces.’”—Psalm 122:6-7
God’s promises of restoration are not only for the Gentile nations, but also the Apple of His Eye, the Jewish people. We are in the last days, approaching a season where His call for alignment is strong and imperative. We must bless Israel, understand our Hebraic heritage, and stand in unity so that God’s will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.
- Unity in the Covenant
In Romans, Paul speaks of the Gentile Church’s role in Israel’s restoration.
“For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved…“—Romans 11:25-26
If the Gentile Church is called to bless Israel and partner with God for her restoration, comprehending our spiritual heritage will provide the reason for the hope we have to those who do not yet know Yeshua.
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear…”—1 Peter 3:15
There is a shift happening within the Body of Christ. The more faith and knowledge grow regarding the depth of covenant relationship, the more the Holy Spirit’s voice begins to stir the heart. The things of this world that break God’s heart begin to move you to more mercy and compassion. Your destiny, and that of Israel’s, is about putting your will aside and stepping into God’s will, with the knowledge of the mystery within you.
“Come, and let us return to the Lord; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight.”—Hosea 6:1-2
Restoration is happening. The drought is only temporary. We are entering this third-day—prophecy is being fulfilled. Now more than ever there is a call to share God’s love, the salvation through Yeshua, with the world.
