New York Abortion Laws Allow Access to Abortion Even If Roe V. Wade Overturned—An Attack on Our Nation
On the 46th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, New York State passed a law to protect women’s access to abortion if the historic case is overturned.
Would you agree that life has value? When we start playing God and try to determine where life begins and ends based on our feelings, emotions, and situations, we enter dangerous territory. We have to be aware of attacks from the enemy.
The subject of abortion is very near to my heart and quite personal. I was conceived out of wedlock, and my biological mother was scheduled to have an abortion. Five days before the procedure, a Catholic priest convinced my Catholic father and my Jewish mother to consider adoption.
My life was saved.
In the last few weeks I have been in a season of deep reflection because of the interviews and discussions regarding the promotional work for my book, Reclaiming Our Forgotten Heritage. I came to realize during this time that had I been aborted, this book and my story would not have been here.
I would not be here, my daughter, Megann, would not be here, and my granddaughter, Ariebella, would not be here.
If the enemy had succeeded with the abortion, it would be fair to say that hundreds of thousands of lives would have been impacted.
The reality that one life, your life, my life, matters—it is an overwhelming revelation when you think of the ripple effect of your birth. It is worth it to stop, pause, and meditate on the value of one life.
One life matters…
Satan is waging war on life, and he’s bringing it into the court system. Therefore, we must deal with this with spiritual weapons in the Courts of Heaven.
Church, this is a call of revival! We must stand united in this mission of prayer and petition—that the devil will have no hold on our nation or on human life!
How Does God View Human Life?
Recently, much of the Christian community remembered and celebrated the Sanctity of Human Life Day. Then, only days later, the State of New York passed a law “to protect a woman’s access to abortion for her personal health.”
This sounds like a good idea—protection for a woman’s health… right? How could this be a bad thing?
Like every lie, the enemy whispers in our ears and only discloses one side. If we want to stand on the truth, we must sift the lie through God’s Word.
Wonderfully Made
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”—Psalm 139:13-16 (ESV)
Knit together in my mother’s womb…
My frame was not hidden from you…
Statements such as these tell us the importance God places on human life. All of our lives—yours and mine—even before birth.
If we stand on this truth, we see the importance of the mother’s life AND the baby’s. Both are precious, have value, and are made for a purpose.
Made in His Image
“So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”—Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)
God’s Word says that He made human life in His image. This means that human life is sacred to our Creator. We are the only piece of creation that is made in His image!
Each life—man, woman, child, young, old, rich, poor—of every human is precious to our Lord. The amazing part is that we all started out in the womb, and He knew us even before our mothers knew we existed. And He has a special plan for each of us, equipping us in unique ways to bring Him glory.
How Do You View Life?
Some of us have questioned how God values individual lives—our own and others—and what each of our unique contributions could be. We can think one life has value over another. As a result, ungodly actions can become justified in our own minds.
This is what happened as New York State passed the law for abortion. We get so muddled up in the lie that we can’t see the truth. But God wastes nothing, and if we intend to be Christ’s ambassadors here on earth, we must be willing to stand together with the same message. The message He tells us over and over—every life, even before birth, has a purpose.
He will use us to bring change in our broken world for His glory!
The beautiful part is that even if we think someone or something is a mistake, He will work it out for the good.
- “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”—Romans 8:28 (NKJV – emphasis added)
- “But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”—Genesis 50:20 (NKJV – emphasis added)
As the Body of Christ, let us unite together during these times. Though they are uncertain to the world, they are very clear to us.
Satan wants to tear us down from the inside out. But when we come together, united as a three-stranded cord, proclaiming a message of hope, life, and grace, the power of God is released throughout the nation and the Spirit of God is moved.
What Can We Do?
We need to pray. Come to God as His Bride and pray for those who do not know Him to have a visitation from the Spirit. May the scales on their eyes fall away so that they see the glory of God revealed.
Abortion deaths in the United States now far exceed those via cancer, violent crime, heart disease, AIDS, and accidents. Our country is turning a blind eye to genocide.
Pray for our nation. Pray for the leaders of our nation to have godly wisdom and discernment, so that they are able to stand on truth and become spiritually aligned with their Creator.
The Lord is positioning us to be His voice. We need to seek His ways and declare His promises!
These are timely opportunities the Lord is giving us to be His voice, releasing a new and glorious sound.
Let us stand aligned with God and united as His Bride to usher in His mercy, grace, and healing!
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”—Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
