Made in America | Building Stronger Families and Communities Through Values and Heritage
What is the American dream? The term is used so often that it has an official definition when searched online as, “The ideal by which equality of opportunity is available to any American, allowing the highest aspirations and goals to be achieved.”
While we may have various thoughts that come to mind as to what the American dream is, one aspect we can all agree on is that this nation was built upon the value and freedom of achieving one’s aspirations and goals.
But how? Why are there so many people still stuck?
They seem to have hit a ceiling and can’t get past generations of struggles such as poverty, sickness, and emotional patterns. Some struggle greatly with relationships and jobs.
Each situation is different. Every single person that God has breathed life into has a story—deserving to be both told and heard.
Some have suffered through abuse, drug addictions, broken homes, and even hunger. Too often we are tempted to quickly point blame. We assign the fault to our families, communities, and our country. To be clear, no system or institution is perfect. We must remember that only when Yeshua Messiah returns will all be restored.
- “So Jesus said to them, ‘Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.’”—Matthew 19:28
- “… whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.”—Acts 3:21
- “Then He who sat on the throne said, ‘Behold, I make all things new.’ And He said to me, ‘Write, for these words are true and faithful.’”—Revelation 21:5
Yes, there are injustices everywhere. And we must be cognizant of how and where we obtain information about the wrongs in this world.
With that being said, before seeds of anger, doubt, and bitterness are planted and manifested as blame, let us humbly approach God’s Word with an open heart and an open mind.
The One Place You Can Always Trust
How do you get most of your information? News and media, right? It’s fair to say that most people, on either their phone, laptop, or TV, get news coming at them all day long. It’s dropped in front of our faces and whispered in our ears wherever we go. So frequently, in fact, that we can become completely unaware of how it starts to impact us. So what do we do with this outpouring of information? How do we respond?
We can’t shut our eyes and ears to the world around us. After all, we are to be in the world but not of it. Then we need to test it.
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.”—Romans 12:2 (emphasis added)
Prove what? Test what?
We should first consider the source, then test the information that comes in against what you know to be true—the Bible. Instead of getting caught up in taking sides on an issue, step back for a moment. Gain perspective and pray.
Pray and Realign
The topics of today can evoke an emotional response that can quickly turn to anger and confusion. Everyone’s been impacted by brokenness, affected by hurt, and haunted by circumstances in their past. These past experiences influence how we see today. But we need to ask ourselves, “Is the way I am seeing this situation—this injustice and this brokenness—in line with a biblical worldview?”
That’s our cue… we need to pray.
Pray for the leaders of our communities and our country.
Pray that we realign with the values that prove to grow stronger and healthier families.
Pray for those who do not understand their value and heritage, and the worth of following biblical values to have an encounter with the Lord that realigns them with their purpose and destiny.
Prayer Is Powerful!
If we, as Believers, come together and pray for the institution of family, our communities, the nation, and even businesses and the economy, what impact could that have?
Pray for Families
The purpose of a family is to form an atmosphere of unity and strength so that those within it can thrive and flourish. Once we step away from the biblical principles of marriage and family, the structure begins to crumble.
Father God,
Thank you for empowering us to stand for whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. If anything is excellent or praiseworthy—let us think about such things. Let us be imitators of You and come into agreement with Your purposes for the family. Your Word says that when we do these things, peace will be with us. Let Your peace reside in the families of our nation today. I seal this blessing that You prepared us for through our heritage.
In Yeshua’s name,
Amen
Pray for Communities
When we lift each other up, as well as our cities, schools, businesses, and nation in prayer, we activate the armor of God and release blessing and healing to our land. The enemy wants to kill, steal, and destroy those blessings, but when we stay aligned with the truth of the Bible and the values it teaches, there is protection.
Father God,
We believe and decree that we are holy sons and daughters of the King of the Universe. You have created us to honor You and have given us abundant life in covenant agreement. Your Holy Spirit has empowered us to take dominion. I am Your ambassador, and I, in Your strength, have the authority to reverse curses and release blessings in their place. Father, we decree that we will trust in You and Your Word, and not be put to shame.
In Yeshua’s name,
Amen
Pray for Value and Heritage to Be Restored
Recently, Curt Landry sat down with Mike Lindell and discussed the importance of understanding the Jewish roots to the Christian faith.
Lindell’s personal testimony of coming out of addiction and understanding the significance of identity and purpose in the Lord, is inspiring. He credits his thriving business of MyPillow® and his faith-based organization, the Lindell Foundation, to his coming into alignment with what God’s purpose is for him as a Believer—reconnecting him with his heritage in the Lord.
He and Curt Landry discussed the power of a biblical heritage underneath our character and integrity, as well as reclaiming the heritage found in our Jewish roots.
There is something we—you and me—can do to build stronger families and communities: look at where we’ve come from, determine where we want to go, and reclaim the values that have been swept aside and nearly lost in our nation. This is a movement that can only go forward with you. If we don’t join together and stand for what our nation was built upon, who will? What will the future hold for our children and grandchildren?
Reclaiming our forgotten heritage is a movement that is happening in our nation today. Returning to our Judeo-Christian roots aligns us and gives us supernatural power to stand in faith. Stronger families and communities are just beyond the horizon.
