Do You Need an Anointed Encounter? Experience God’s Glory!
Table of Contents
A divine shift and God’s glory were released during Hanukkah. Many experienced the glory of the Lord and had an anointed encounter during the Festival of Lights.
But before we move on from this season, thinking that it no longer applies, let us be reminded of God’s glory and His Word…
Isaiah 60:1 says,
“Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you.” (emphasis added)
When one season comes to an end, it makes way for a new season, but that doesn’t mean we forget what we have learned and experienced in the last season.
Therefore, let us meditate on what the glory of the Lord is…
The Glory of the Lord
In Bible commentaries, the word “glory” is described as…
- Weightiness
- Substantial or heavy
- Honorable
- Having splendor, power, wealth, authority, magnificence, dignity, riches, and excellence
Isaiah 60:1 describes the glorious rescuing power of the Redeemer. The Lord is telling us—He is telling YOU—to respond, to rise and shine because this glory (splendor, power, wealth, authority, magnificence, dignity, excellence, and more) has been placed upon you.
So then, as we move out of one season and into the next, we can continue to carry and reveal His glory to those around us all year long.
What Are Your Thoughts About God’s Glory?
After reading the above description of God’s glory, how does it compare to what you know or have thought? Have you sold the glory of God short?
Perhaps you’ve thought the glory was…
- Experiencing intense emotion
- Feeling goosebumps
- Weeping or crying
- Laughing
- Being slain in the Spirit
But it’s so much more!
Again, it is important we get this; the weight of God’s glory is powerful. It is substantial. It releases honor, splendor, and power. It demands a response.
Wherever the Lord has placed you in this season, whatever your sphere of influence is, you need God’s glory. You need to be empowered with a fresh anointing to impart His love and splendor upon those around you.
First Peter 5:6-7 is sound instruction for us to follow as we anticipate God’s glory to be made manifest:
“Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

An Anointed Encounter Prepares You to Be a Warrior
The anointed encounter that was released at Hanukkah separated you for a purpose so that you will arise in this next season, which we are now in.
It aligns you with Him so that your temple remains lit.
First Corinthians 3:16-17 says,
“Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? If anyone defiles the temple of God, God will destroy him. For the temple of God is holy, which temple you are.”
His oil lights the fire of the Holy Spirit within you, preparing you…
- To arise and shine
- To be a warrior
- To fulfill the commissioning assignment that He has for you
If you feel the fire growing dim, ask Him, “Is there anything in me that needs to be destroyed, consumed, and purified by Your glorious fire? Cleanse it now, Lord, so that I may be the strong warrior and arise as Your Word says!”
Your Warrior Call Flows into the Next Season
Though Hanukkah has ended, the commissioning continues.
Haggai 2:18-19 says,
“Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, [which was also Hanukkah 5782/2021] from the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid—consider it: Is the seed still in the barn? As yet the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yielded fruit. But from this day I will bless you.” (emphasis added)
Do you feel that your seed is still in the barn? It is time to light the oil and fan the flame of the Holy Spirit and see God’s glory manifest. He says from this day forward, “I will bless you!” Start expecting Him to move.
Through His glory and grace, He is giving individuals, families, communities, and nations second chances.
The passage in Haggai goes on to say…
“Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying: ‘I will shake heaven and earth. I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms; I will destroy the strength of the Gentile kingdoms. I will overthrow the chariots and those who ride in them; the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother. In that day,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘I will take you, Zerubbabel My servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says the Lord, ‘and will make you like a signet ring; for I have chosen you,’ says the Lord of hosts.”
—Haggai 2:21-23
The signet ring is a covenant ring, sealing your commissioned assignment.
It is time to have an encounter with the Lord. It is time to declare His Word.
Pray…
“Father God, I come to You in the name of Yeshua. I decree and declare this day that Your fire is lit, and new oil is poured out upon me. Your glory causes me to arise and shine. It is not by my power, but Your Spirit, oh Lord, that I will be empowered and equipped to be a warrior for Your Kingdom. Holy Spirit, come with fire and burn out all the dross from my life. Anything that is contrary to You, God, consume it and burn it away, in Yeshua’s name. I decree that Your Spirit living in me gives me divine power and precious promises through the knowledge of Yeshua, who has called me to His glory. Thank you, in Yeshua’s name, amen and amen!”
Receive the manifestation of His fullness in this season. Don’t let lying, oppressive, and depressive spirits steal your joy.
The temple of the Lord is restored!
Declare that your temple comes into alignment with the Lord and receives fresh oil every day. Trust that His glory will illuminate your path forward.
