Cutting off Mindsets That Hinder Your Kingdom Authority
There are many mindsets and demonic influences that want to weaken or dismantle our Kingdom authority. Most, if not all, are tied to how we think. How we think is often shaped by how we were raised. But as born-again Believers, we must wrap our minds around how we have been given new DNA in the spiritual realm and heavenly places.
All the iniquitous structures, Egyptian mindsets, and humanistic thinking we operated in before salvation in Yeshua were removed by the blood. They are cut away from us when we enter a covenant with God.
Even though these things have been cut away, our minds must catch up with the truth, especially in high-anxiety times. We must be reprogrammed to think like King’s kids.
Romans 12:2 reminds us that we are to be in the world but not of it. This is always a challenge, but it isn’t impossible. Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). Therefore, let us come out of agreement with an impossible mindset (which is from the enemy) and into agreement with a King’s kid mindset, one that understands all things are possible when God is leading the charge.
Understanding Your Authority
To have authority means that there is something or someone under you. In the spiritual realm, you have authority over the enemy. The problem is that the enemy uses deception, distraction, doubt, and intimidation to keep you from exercising that authority. He doesn’t back down, even though his authority over you has been terminated in Yeshua.
This is why you must pray and decree your authority in Yeshua. You overcome the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the words of your testimony (Revelation 12:11).
Know this: You have been blessed to have authority in Jesus to trample and destroy the things that hinder your Kingdom position!
- “Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”—Luke 10:19 (emphasis added)
- “He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.”—1 John 3:8 (emphasis added)
- “Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ.”—Ephesians 1:3
Think Like a King’s Kid | Get Rid of Your Old Mindset
But here’s the key: Think about how God’s Kingdom works, and think about how the world works. Those two can’t be mixed, but they can be understood and navigated wisely through prayer. This is what gives you the advantage!
Think about how your old identity was crucified with Jesus, and you are a new creation in Him.
- “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”—Galatians 2:20
Think about how you are an heir to the promise.
- “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”—Galatians 3:26-29
Think about how you have been grafted in and can be a partaker of the fatness of the olive tree.
- “And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree…”—Romans 11:17
Remember that the message of the cross is foolish to those who are perishing but is the power of God to those who are saved (1 Corinthians 2:18)! So then, think about who you are and the authority of Jesus (having faith in this) rather than feeding your fears and reverting to old ways of thinking in a situation.
Think Like a King’s Kid | Walk in Kingdom Authority Before and During the Situation
Before you go into a high-anxiety situation, wrap your mind around the importance of activating your authority.
- Pray God’s Word
- Decree God’s Word
- War in the Spirit with God’s Word
- Silence the enemy with God’s Word
Decreeing and claiming God’s Word both before and during a situation arrests the spirits so you can walk into and through it with Kingdom authority. Those who are worldly don’t understand the power of this. But that’s your advantage!
Listen to the Spirit.
The situation may be uncomfortable at times, but it’s good to pause and silently ask the Spirit what He is saying to you. Ask Him who He wants to be for you in the circumstance. He might say, “Just be still. I am your peace.” Know He is working in the circumstance so He gets the glory. He is sending out angels to work in your situation.
- “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”—Psalm 46:10
Train your mind.
In this hour, Believers must be training their minds to be aligned with God in every situation. This is a process that will make a way for you—a road in the wilderness and a river in the desert (Isaiah 43:19). Be a man or woman of your word. Think about the fruit that will be produced from your actions, the words you speak, and your interactions in the situation. Will the fruit be of the Spirit or of the world?
- “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.”—Matthew 7:16-17
Take advantage of the opportunity at hand.
Walk in light and wisdom. Ephesians 5:11 says have no fellowship with unfruitful works. By the time you decree, pray, and war in the spirit with God’s Word, the Lord has already taken care of the situation. Stay grounded in this truth and trust God with whatever outcome is manifested. Trusting God and not being anxious about anything is always in alignment with His will. This helps you take advantage of the opportunity at hand, believing that God has already redeemed what was once lost or stolen.
- “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.”—Ephesians 5:15-16
You Are a King’s Kid
This is what it looks like to think like a King’s kid.
Thinking like the world thinks hinders you from walking in Kingdom authority. Arrest the spirits that come against you in your mind and embrace the liberty of knowing God is in complete control of your situation.
