Are You Kingdom Ready? Let the Holy Spirit Get You There.
Many Believers long to be equipped by God so that they can step into their Kingdom purposes. As we grow and mature in the Lord, we understand how much more we need to lean into the Spirit so that we can move forward and be equipped for what God has called us to do.
Oftentimes, the problem is that we can feel stuck.
To break through the feelings of stagnation, we start asking those around us for their opinions about certain situations that have manifested in our lives.
- “This event happened in my life; what do you think it means?”
- “How do I know where God is leading me?”
- “How can I be on fire for the Lord?”
We might be asking some of the right questions, but perhaps we are asking the wrong people…
Before you move forward with your Kingdom purpose, you must ask the Lord to take off any lens you are looking through that tints your spiritual life with anything other than His truth.
Father God, you have given me a spirit of power, love, and self-control. I pray, according to your Word, that every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of You is shifted into alignment and made obedient according to Your truth.
“In Yeshua’s name… Amen.”
In other words, take off your denominational, cultural, generational, and experiential glasses and start reading the Word of God with that childlike faith Jesus talked about.
“Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.’”—Matthew 18:2-4
We must be willing to challenge and renounce the lies we’ve believed from our past and replace them with the abundant and powerful Word of God.
Surrendering to Become Kingdom Ready
We also must fully surrender to God and allow our spiritual muscles to be stretched.
How do you do that?
You seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Many in the Church today have a plethora of questions that surround this topic.
- “Is the baptism of the Holy Spirit biblical?”
- “Is it for the Church today?”
- “What does it mean to speak in tongues?”
These are only a few of the questions that have ultimately set up barriers around the understanding and releasing of the Holy Spirit in the lives of many Believers.
The questions can be scary to ask and require deep searching into God’s character. Much of what we read about in the Bible regarding the subject of baptism of the Holy Spirit goes against what we’ve heard coming from the pulpit in many churches. As a result, many decide to steer clear of the subject.
Unfortunately, that stunts the growth and power that God intended, not just for the Church but also for you as an individual Believer. This is exactly what the enemy hopes for when he sees us, God’s children, settling for what we believe to be safe—an appropriate distance from any spiritual empowerment.
But God says, “No. I want you equipped. I want you to remember the sacrifice I made for you on the cross at Calvary, and I want you to move beyond the grave and release My power throughout the world. This is my assignment for you.”
How Else Could We Possibly Fulfill the Great Commission without the Baptism of the Holy Spirit?
“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.’ Amen.”—Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus Himself stated it right there: “…baptizing them in the name… of the Holy Spirit.”
Here are some thoughts that can grow us. If we, as Believers, are to be studying God’s Word, engaging in fellowship and conversation, then what is the next step? Do we stop there? How are we to bring others into the fold and reveal God’s glory?
In a world that is filled with philosophical thoughts, ideas, and belief systems that are essentially just talk and earthly wisdom, we can be encouraged that our faithful God has equipped us for more. He wants us to demonstrate His power.
People tend to seek God when they are in pain. When they start to search and eventually cross your path, will they experience something different from persuasive words and earthly wisdom?
Can we agree that it’s time to stand up and actively demonstrate God’s power to a lost world?
There are some of you today who are tired of “all talk and no action.” You are refusing to settle.
You are Kingdom ready.
The Apostle Paul said it this way…
“And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”—1 Corinthians 2:4-5 (emphasis added)
