Giving Hope to Our Future Generations
How does God view human life? Recently much of the Christian community remembered the Sanctity of Human Life. God’s Word says that He made human life in His image. This means that human life is sacred to our Creator. We are the only piece of creation that is made in His image!
“For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance; in your book were written, every one of them, the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them.”—Psalm 139: 13-16
Each life; man, woman, child, young, old, rich, poor, of every human is precious to our Lord. The amazing part is we all started out in the womb, and He knew us even before our mothers knew we existed. And He has a special plan for each of us, equipping us in unique ways to bring Him glory.
Some of us have questioned how God values individual lives, our own and others, and what our unique contribution could be. Through prayer and God’s Word, He is excited to show us His will. Often God’s will is not to bless us alone, but to use us in partnership to bring blessings to others. He uses us to bring change in our broken world for His glory! What a privilege!
Here at Curt Landry Ministries, God has given us a passion and vision to help human life; our future generation, through providing hope and opportunities for youth in Israeli safe houses. These precious lives come from backgrounds of brokenness, abuse, poverty, and hopelessness. As youth enter the Yeladim safe house they are given amazing opportunities to take part in a bigger picture of change for God’s glory. They now have a safe environment where they can thrive.
Because God gave us a desire to have relationships that are healthy, these young men and women can experience this, thus resulting in a personal desire to pursue education and careers to contribute to others in society. The youth in the safe houses have described their relationships as family, when they may not otherwise have one.
When you give to our children, you are planting seeds of hope in an individual… and not just a cause. God has a precious design for each of us, and for these young people, too.
“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.’”—Jeremiah 29:11
