Waiting on God As He Reveals the Hidden Things
Waiting on God to reveal and expose the hidden things stretches us. But when we are flexible in the spirit and have a teachable heart, we discover that waiting on God is full of…
- Beauty
- Grace
- Protection
- Restoration
- Glory
Waiting on God | This is a Season
We are in a season when God is revealing the hidden things. But often, we find ourselves getting impatient. He may not be revealing things as quickly as we would like. So then, we are also in a season of waiting.
Waiting on God to reveal the hidden things can feel like the atmosphere around us is full of tension, like the enemy surrounds us. But know there is a purpose to the waiting. And the Lord is more powerful than the enemy.
We want you to know that waiting on God is a series of moments to encounter Him. Moments of grace and mercy. In the place of tension, the Lord releases His glory.
Waiting on God is a season to encounter His glory!
Waiting on God | He Knows You
In Isaiah 48, the Lord says…
“You have heard; see all this. And will you not declare it? I have made you hear new things from this time, even hidden things, and you did not know them. They are created now and not from the beginning; and before this day you have not heard them, lest you should say, ‘Of course I knew them.’ Surely you did not hear, surely you did not know; surely from long ago your ear was not opened. For I knew that you would deal very treacherously, and were called a transgressor from the womb.”
—Isaiah 48:6-8 (emphasis added)
Waiting on God allows Him to reveal the hidden things in His timing. He knows our character. He knows our flesh and sin nature. He knows that when He reveals things prematurely, we are likely to run ahead of Him, only thinking of our identities as kings and forgetting our identities as priests.
As priests, we humbly come before Him, ask Him, seek Him, and wait upon Him. As kings, we are given boldness and confidence, which is necessary for Kingdom work and expansion. However, we can be zealous in the flesh, headstrong and prideful.
Waiting on God—having full confidence that He knows us better than we know ourselves—ties us to His timing rather than our flesh.
Waiting on God | The Purpose
Isaiah 48 continues…
“For My name’s sake I will defer My anger, and for My praise I will restrain it from you, so that I do not cut you off. Behold, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. For My own sake, for My own sake, I will do it; for how should My name be profaned? And I will not give My glory to another.”
—Isaiah 48:9-11 (emphasis added)
In the year 5782, we pay close attention to the “bet,” or the number 2. The 2, or bet, is a pictogram that represents a house, unity, and covenant. The bet has a small dot inside of it. (see image above). The dot, so to say, is hidden within the house or covenant. You are that dot. As you wait on God to reveal the hidden things, He is hiding you in His shelter, under His wing.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty… Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you shall take refuge…”
—Psalm 91:1, 3-4 (emphasis added)
Waiting on God has a purpose. First, He hides things for His name’s sake. Second, He hides you for your protection.
Waiting on God | His Word to You
As God reveals the hidden things to you, you might find the voice of the enemy telling you that you should have known or seen this before now. It is a condemning voice that tells you that if you would’ve seen this earlier, then you could’ve avoided certain situations or trials.
Cancel the “should, would, could” lies!
God wants you to know…
“It’s okay that you didn’t know the hidden things. I hid them for a purpose and a time. I hid them to protect you and cover you from running ahead of Me. I did this to cultivate and grow your priestly anointing. You need both—a kingly and a priestly anointing—in this coming season. I had to hide things to protect you from growing prideful. I’m washing away the pride. I’m cleansing you to see and know the hidden things I’m about to reveal.”
Waiting on God cleanses you.
Waiting on God | Praying for Released Revelation
Pause for a moment and praise the name of the Lord. Thank Him for His timing, revelation, and season of waiting. Proclaim the good harvest that will come from waiting on God!
“Lord God, I come to You in the name of Yeshua—the name above all other names. I know that there is a time of waiting for Your name’s sake. I believe Your glory will pour out upon the earth, and every knee will bow and tongue confess that You are King of Kings and our High Priest! Lord, thank You for Your timing of released revelation. I decree and declare that Your timing is absolutely perfect. You are the author and perfector of my faith, and this is what You are doing in the waiting, perfecting me. I don’t have to know everything. I trust You. You know me. You know my strengths and my weaknesses. Therefore, You are patient with me, shaping me and maturing me for Your name’s sake!
“Psalm 84:8-9 says, ‘O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah. O God, behold our shield, and look upon the face of Your anointed.’
“Father God, I believe and decree that for Your glory, there will be a season of authority and glory, a season of revealing the hidden things. You follow a pattern of first refining, then revealing. Forgive me, Lord, I repent of the complaining about the refining. I submit to the process. I trust You. You have refined me for Your name’s sake. Lord God, Your name will not be given to another. In Yeshua’s name, amen and amen!”
7 Things to Remember As You Are Waiting on God…
- He protects you.
“No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.”
—Psalm 91:10-11
- He is shaping your character.
“And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
—Romans 5:3-4
- He wants you to repent, return to Him, and receive forgiveness, being purified for your purpose.

—1 John 1:9
- His glory will be revealed.
“The glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
—Isaiah 40:5
- He hears you.
“I cried to Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue. If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear. But certainly God has heard me; He has attended to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me!”
—Psalm 66:17-20
- His timing is perfect.
“But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
—2 Peter 3:8-9
- He will reveal the hidden things.
“For God will bring every work into judgement, including every secret thing, whether good or evil.”

In Summary
Waiting on God to reveal and expose the hidden things stretches us, matures us, and grows us. When we are flexible in the spirit and have a teachable heart, we discover that waiting on God is actually a gift of protection and purpose.
He knows how our flesh operates. If He reveals the hidden things prematurely, we will run ahead of Him, out of the covering of His protection and into prideful thoughts and actions.
So then, let us remember that in the waiting, God…
- Protects
- Shapes our character
- Invites us to repent and return to Him
- Reveals His glory
- Hears us
- Orchestrates perfect timing
- Reveals the hidden things
