What does it mean to be a witness?

A witness testifies to what is seen or heard and verifies its truth. As Believers, we are commanded to be a witness of Yeshua by the power of the Holy Spirit.

“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”—Acts 1:8

The disciples spoke boldly and unapologetically about the truth.

“So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.’”—Acts 4:18-20

They couldn’t help to speak of what they witnessed because the evidence was so compelling.

Growing in your faith reveals more levels of understanding the Truth. When you operate your life in His power, you have His witness.

To whom are you a witness?

We often say, “May God receive the glory.” What does this look like? The only way to give God glory is when God’s glory performs the deed. The work is supernatural, and you get to be a part of it. He uses you for His divine purpose, to be a witness to His work.

Stepping into a new land…

We are entering a time of transition as the Body of Christ to be a great witness. The truth is, some will not transition in this first wave of leadership, while God is preparing others to cross the Jordan and take possession of the land.

The Lord is currently shaping those initial pioneers for what is to come. They can’t be a witness of what they have seen, as it is uncharted territory. Therefore, they must rely solely on the Lord for their purpose. The Holy Spirit gives you this power.

“…When you see the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, and the priests, the Levites, bearing it, then you shall set out from your place and go after it… that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.”—Joshua 3:3-4

God is raising up those whom He has shaped to “set out” from their old place and to trust in Him to guide them into this new land.

A transition of witness responsibility…

Shavuot was a time to lay down all that you wanted to be cut out of your life. A time to take up the flame of the Holy Spirit and journey into the Promised Land, just as Joshua did.

Joshua experienced a transition before claiming God’s promise, and the same goes for you. It’s a time to prepare… Let’s unpack this further.

“Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’”—Joshua 1:11

God tells Joshua to command the people to prepare provisions. Is He asking you to make preparations for a new land? There is a shift about to happen with great understanding and reward on the other side, but you must prepare and take on new responsibility.

God’s hand is still on you, never leaving or forsaking you, but He wants to expand Israel’s footprint and release your inheritance. Are you ready?

This initial shift is not for the faint of heart and must accompany discerning and confident leadership. Looking at the passage in Joshua, the people were provided for entirely through the manna from heaven, but this was about to cease.

God’s hand was still upon them, but a move was on the horizon for which they needed to ready themselves. God instructed them to do the following:

1. “…’Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’”—Joshua 1:11

• God instructed His people to get ready and prepare for the journey because the promise was on the other side.

2. “Your wives, your little ones, and your livestock shall remain in the land which Moses gave you on this side of the Jordan. But you shall pass before your brethren armed, all your mighty men of valor, and help them…”—Joshua 1:14

• Not everyone will cross initially. Not all are pioneers, only “men of valor.” These men will boldly stake a claim on the inherited land, and then help the rest enter.

3. “…’Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.’”—Joshua 3:5

• Laying down the old self at the altar and being purified by the fire of the Holy Spirit burns up the old and renews a right spirit within you. Then the Lord will do a good work in you so that He can receive the glory!

The Lord is preparing, separating, and sanctifying the remnant to move to the next level. Meditate on these instructions given to Joshua. It’s not enough to merely hear and understand the mystery, but to activate the awaited blessings into your life.

 “Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”—Joshua 1:6-9

These are words for the first wave of leadership—know and rest in your destiny.

The enemy will try to put up walls and throw criticism at you. Ignore it, cancel it, and move on. Have faith, and be strong and courageous. The key is in verse 8, “…meditate in it [God’s Word] day and night.” Keep your eyes on Him, do not be swayed. There is a promise of prosperity and success in your future.

Enter into His rest

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want… he restores my soul…”—Psalm 23:1, 3

To come to a place when we “shall not want,” we enter into His rest and live according to His purposes.

However, to get there, our character undergoes reconstruction. If you’ve experienced a delay or rejection, those have been the teaching methods God has used to exhaust your own solutions and to redirect you to trust in Him alone.

Obedience to His instruction means that your former way of operation has to change, including financial management. Follow Him at a higher level of responsibility because He is transferring wealth to those who are obedient—those who are wise and superior in their craft, whatever it may be. He’s raising up His best in this hour.

He will take you into mountain places you’ve never gone. You will go in places you’ve never known. He will make the crooked paths straight.

Provoke the future generations to jealousy by the rest that you have in the midst of the war. God is declaring and proclaiming over you when you say yes to Him in this season of transfer.
